These are from a trip to Arizona earlier this year. I love Astrophotography so much, and was very fortunate to have Outdoor Photography Magazine send me a free Zeiss Camera Lens for the weekend. It made getting out and getting these shots REALLY fun.
Contemplation

Got a lot of feed back on some of my photographic work today. An appraisal of sorts. Some good, but a lot of it??? Let’s just say the road ahead of me is filled with learning and improving. Some of what was shared with me today was hard to hear. However, in order to GROW […]
Four Years and Two Kids later

So in preparation for a meeting with a client today, and putting to use the things I learned from The Art Of Image Making, I went back and reedited some photos from my sisters wedding. Four years, and two kids later, these two grow closer together with every shared moment.

Audaciae

For as long as I can remember, my family has been camping and having adventures in the great outdoors. I remember when I was little, my grandparents has images from Ansel Adams hanging in their cabin, and I was so very captivated by them. At a young age my mother gave me a camera, and […]

Pumpkin Girl

It has become a sort of family tradition to put my nieces in pumpkins before their first Halloween. So here is Miss Emma’s debut in her pumpkin! She was a bit less thrilled about it than Regan was when we did her, but still. I think she makes quiet the cute pumpkin girl!! More […]

Rose

In order to escape accountability for his crimes, the perpetrator does everything in his power to promote forgetting. If secrecy fails, the perpetrator attacks the credibility of his victim. If he cannot silence her absolutely, he tries to make sure no one listens. ~Judith Lewis Herman, Trauma and Recovery
Emma at 5 Months

My second niece Emma just recently turned 5 months, and to celebrate, my sister and I did a small little impromptu photo shoot for her! She is such an adorable baby, and I really look forward to photographing her throughout the years!

Yosemite

“If for a moment you are inclined to regard these taluses as mere draggled, chaotic dumps, climb to the top of one of them, and run down without any haggling, puttering hesitation, boldly jumping from boulder to boulder with even speed. You will then find your feet playing a tune, and quickly discover the music and poetry of these magnificent rock piles — a fine lesson; and all Nature’s wildness tells the same story — the shocks and outbursts of earthquakes, volcanoes, geysers, roaring, thundering waves and floods, the silent uprush of sap in plants, storms of every sort — each and all are the orderly beauty-making love-beats of Nature’s heart.” ― John Muir

Utah

Home is where the Red Rock is. Southern Utah captivates me for so many reasons, and the breath taking ridges of the canyons down there is only one reason. With little to no light pollution, the air is clean and crisp for astrophotography.

Whales

Attack!!! Competition pods can be VERY brutal. Males compete fiercely against each other to see who is the “biggest” and most “dominate” in the area, with the hopes of being able to escort a nearby female and her calf. (And yes, hopefully get the chance at being next years baby daddy)

Storms

If you ever want to experience one of the most brilliant sky shows ever, head to southern Utah – towards the Henry Mountains – during late July and August and you will see some of the most breath taking lightning storms ever. The storm in these photos literally chased me off a mountain, and it is not a joke that you will feel the air charge when you’re standing on top of a mountain taking photos.

Santa Cruz

This shot of the sunset was one I’d always wanted to try to capture. Conditions were perfect for me that day, and I was able to capture the sun at just the perfect angle.

Black and White

Southern Utah is such a captivating landscape, and while shooting down there last fall, I decided to really give black and white photography my fulltime attention. The bold colors of the red rock down there and the juniper trees that dot the landscape really make for some truly stellar photos.

The best kind of therapy is a day at the beach. Being close to the ocean (or even in the ocean) helps me get back to me.

Birthday Trip

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky. ~Rabindranath Tagore
Baby, baby

My niece Regan at 3 months. As her object permanence got better, she developed a love for my glasses, and would constantly take them off my face. She has always been a photogenic kid.
Blossoms

Every year towards the end of February, beginning of March, all of the almond orchards around my town start to bloom. It provides one of the best places to take photos for families as well as engagement photos. I always love how the orchards smell, and the shots I’m able to produce because of the gorgeous backdrop.
Regan

Once again here’s my niece Regan. This time she’s four months. We come from a family of outdoor people. My mother’s side are cattle ranchers, and my Dad’s side of the family love to camp and go hunting. She loves her Bampa’s camo, so we dressed her up to match for a birthday surprise!
Carly

I had the wonderful opportunity to accompany one of my best friends, Alex LaMarsh, on a photoshoot in New York and do some behind the scenes photography. I was very honored that the studio owner, James Weber, allowed me to take some photos too while we were working. Carly is an amazing model, and the camera adores her. It was so much fun working with such talented people.
Love

I snagged this shot in southern Utah of my sister, and her then boyfriend, now husband. This was shortly before he proposed to her. It was fun watching him experience snow, REAL SNOW, for the first time.
FIDM

One of the gorgeous designs that debuted at FIDM 2016. This show was a breath taking journey, and the collection really kept you on the edge of your seat.
Christian Kane

If you’re a fan of country music and a good time, Christian Kane needs to go on your list of must see performers. His band Kane is that perfect mix of rock and country and will definitely get you up out of your chair for a good time.
Steve Carlson

I have had the great privilege to see Steve Carlson perform many times, and over the span of several years have become really good friends with him. He’s an extremely talented guitarist, and a tremendous singer. I would highly recommend his music to anyone who’s a fan of grooving along while driving.
Louden Swain

If you’re a fan of Supernatural, you may recognize the man jumping in the air. If not, that man is Rob Benedict, and the man on drums is Stephen Norton of the band Louden Swain. Highly energizing music, and amazing performers!
Portrait

Every once in a while, I’ll get the wonderful opportunity to see a friend I haven’t seen in a long time, and we end up finding some fun things to do while hanging out. Lucky for me, I have great friends with beautiful smiles.
Pumpkin

We visit Regan once again, this time at five months. My sister wanted to really do something themed for Halloween, so we hollowed out a pumpkin and stuck her inside. She had no problems with it, but her cousins lost their mind when we tried it with them. She has her aunties love for rubber duckies too.
Runway

I was extremely humbled when fashion designer, and FIDM debut honoree, Anh Phung, invited me to her runway show. Her super fun collection, Biscuits and Bears, stole the show, and looked so amazing on the kids as they skipped down the runway. I can’t wait to see the amazing things she designs in the future.
Wedding

I pulled double duty for these shots. In addition to being maid of honor at my sister’s wedding, I also was able to take some gorgeous shots of her and her husband. She looked so beautiful on her wedding day.

Alcatraz

One of my favorite places to visit in San Francisco is Alcatraz. The gorgeous architecture captivates me and makes for some amazing shots. What really draws my attention are the buildings that have started to deteriorate with age. To me that really shows the time that has past there. I especially love the texture of the broken plasters.

The Aquarium

“Great attention gets paid to rainforests because of the diversity of life there. Diversity in the oceans is even greater.” — Sylvia Earle, Oceanographer Words can’t even fully encapsulate how at home I feel when I am at an aquarium. I have loved the ocean since I was little, and being able to visit a place where you can see the wildlife that inhabits the ocean makes me extremely happy.
